• Minimise the number of entry points and use heavy-duty concrete blocks or bollards to prevent unauthorised vehicle access when the site is closed.

• Ensure all doors and windows of any on-site buildings are shut and locked when not in use.

Equipment and Tool Security:

• Lock all equipment and tools in a secure building or storage toolbox when not in use.

• Always lock vehicles and keep keys in your possession.

• Mark and register tools and equipment, and keep a record of all valuable items.

• Use hitch locks, wheel clamps, or ground anchors for valuable machinery.

Surveillance and Monitoring:

• Install accredited CCTV and alarm systems, positioned to capture the site effectively and out of easy reach.

• Ensure the property has good security lighting.

• Consider a monitored intruder alarm system or a monitoring station with remote access to instantly notify police of illegal entry.

Personnel and Reporting:

• Ensure all staff are briefed on emergency and evacuation procedures and remain vigilant.

• An on-site security guard provides a permanent presence and can quickly alert authorities.

• Report any suspicious activity to security and/or the police.
